| 8 June 2012. ESPI director Peter Hulsroj presented report 39 on the socio-economic benefits of GMES at the ‘GMES in Action’ conference, which took place in Copenhagen on 4-5 June. |
The European Commission, with the Danish EU Presidency and ESA, convened the conference, GMES in Action, for the purpose of highlighting the practical benefits of GMES. The conference was opened by the Danish Minister of Science, Innovation and Higher Education, Morten Oestergaard, and featured speakers from the organising organisations, from the European Environment Agency and Eumetsat, and from many user entities. ESPI director Peter Hulsroj presented ESPI report 39, The Socio-Economic Benefits of GMES, in a panel dedicated to the opportunities for jobs and growth created by GMES.
