The Information Day on the second call „Space“ of the 7th Framework Programme (FP 7) took place in Prague, Czech Republic, on 9-10 September 2008. It was jointly organized by DLR (German Aerospace Center), CSO (Czech Space Office) and the Technology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences. It was attended by 130 participants from 17 EU Member States as well as representatives from Turkey, Israel, Iceland and the European Commission and ESA.

ESPI’s Senior Research Fellow Pierre-Henri Pisani was asked to make a presentation on “GMES for Africa”, the initiative which had been adopted under the initiative of Portugal’s EU Council Presidency in December 2007 and reflected in the Lisbon Process and Declaration. Pierre-Henri Pisani has recently also prepared an issue of “ESPI Perspectives” on this topic.
