11 September 2012. Half-hour Programme about Humanitarian Telemedicine in Austrian Radio (Ö1)

On Monday 10 September Ö1 broadcasted a programme in the series Dimensionen – Die Welt der Wissenschaft, dedicated to humanitarian telemedicine and featuring a number of speakers from the ESPI evening event on the topic, held on 14 June (more here). In the programme ESPI director Peter Hulsroj explains the potential of telemedicine to help overcome the North-South divide in healthcare, and Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan conveyed the highly relevant experiences of India. Finally John Riehl gave an account of how Medical Missions for Children for almost 15 years has been providing secondary paediatric expertise to needy areas using the telemedicine tool.
