12 November 2009. Alongside his participation as keynote speaker in the conference “European Identity through Space”, ESA Director General Jean-Jacques Dordain met with ESPI’s staff acknowledging the recent output of the Institute and recognising the growing impact of its broadening set of activities.
Pleased with the work ESPI has accomplished through preparing study reports, book publications, memoranda and position papers as well as by organising conferences, workshops and other events, Jean-Jacques Dordain commended the staff of ESPI for its intense commitment and high professionalism. As a Founding Member of ESPI, he expressed his contentment with the way ESPI is developing and is raising its impact, emphasizing his satisfaction with the leadership of the Institute’s Director. Meeting the ESPI staff, he took the opportunity to outline further areas, where ESPI should get engaged and what formats of activities would support the impact of ESPI’s work. The Director General of ESA was joined in this meeting by the Chairman of ESPI’s General Assembly, Harald Posch, who also expressed his – and also the General Assembly’s - delight with the accomplishments of the ESPI staff.
