tekes.jpg 16 January 2008. Visiting ESPI today, the Director for Space Technology in the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (Tekes), Kimmo Kanto, initiated cooperation with the institute.

Finland, one of the leading innovative countries, is currently in the course of preparing a new national space strategy. For this process, the Finnish Space Strategy Working Group identified ESPI as a partner to provide information and knowledge on issues pertaining to global as well as European space affairs and space policy making.

Kimmo Kanto discussed these issues at a meeting in ESPI and it was agreed that ESPI Research Fellow Nicolas Peter will lead this activity in the institute. Finland intends to give its space activities a new outline and re-position itself in the European context in line with national innovation policy.
