visit_of_amnon_ginati.jpg 18 April 2008. During a visit today, the head of ESA’s IAP (Integrated Applications Promotion) Programme Initiative, Amnon Ginati, expressed ESA’s interest in research ESPI recently conducted in the field of space and sustainability.

During the visit of Amnon Ginati, the results of the recent ESPI study “Case for Space” were presented by Pierre-Henri Pisani and the conclusions of the ESPI conference “Threats, Risks and Sustainability – Answers by Space” were outlined by Charlotte Mathieu and Agnieszka Lukaszczyk.

In a discussion of relevant thematic areas to be addressed within the ESA Integrated Applications Promotion Programme (which is in the preparation for the upcoming ESA Ministerial Council), Amnon Ginati and ESPI’s Director Kai-Uwe Schrogl identified a number of topics where ESPI can be of value-added support on the international scale (activities in the International Astronautical Federation and the International Academy of Astronautics related to ESA initiatives for the establishment of a Technical Committee and a study group on integrated applications) and the European and regional dimension.

This meeting in ESPI took place alongside the bilateral ESA-Austrian consultation workshop, where also Claudie Haigneré participated from ESA’s side.
