cocosl.logo.jpg 20 June 2009. ESPI will continue to play a significant role in the Cologne Commentary on Space Law (CoCoSL) project, which, for the first time, prepares a comprehensive article by article commentary on the outer space treaties and UN General Assembly Resolutions.

In the framework of a three day workshop at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Bonn, the second phase of CoCoSL was launched. Following the first phase, dealing with the Outer Space Treaty, which was initiated with a workshop at ESPI in January 2008 (see related webnews here), this second phase deals with the four other treaties and  the relevant Resolutions of the UN General Assembly.

Together with Stephan Hobe (Director of the Institute of Air and Space Law at the University of Cologne) and Bernhard Schmidt-Tedd (Head of Legal Support in DLR), ESPI’s Director Kai-Uwe Schrogl is the co-editor of this commentary, which unites the foremost experts in space law from around the world.
