23 May 2008. Organized by the Royal Military Academy of Belgium, the “2008 Air Power Symposium”, held in Brussels, dealt with current issues in military space policy. ESPI contributed on the European setting.
The symposium was organized around three presentations on NATO, US and European military space policy and industrial policy. ESPI’s Director Kai-Uwe Schrogl had been invited to present the European setting and discuss the related policy questions and perspectives. (download here)
The symposium was also used for evaluating work conducted by the Advanced Staff Course of the Royal Military Academy in Brussels. ESPI’s participation in this symposium is highlighting one of the current focal areas of its work, managed by Research Fellow Wolfgang Rathgeber, dealing with security and the military use of outer space (see the latest related webnews here). Results of the ongoing respective study will be presented by ESPI in early July.
