26 June 2009. ESPI Report 18 on “Space Policies, Issues and Trends 2008/2009“ has been released today. It is the third issue of its kind, and it covers major space policy related events and developments from July 2008 to February 2009.
The ESPI reports “Space Policies, Issues and Trends” are published on a yearly basis. They aim at providing a comprehensive overview and analysis by describing the European space sector from different perspectives, accounting also for the global context. Following the structure of its predecessor reports, the present issue (download here) is structured into chapters on global political and economic trends, the global space sector, space policies and strategies around the world, the European institutional market, space industry evolutions, the defence perspective and the specific role of institutions.
ESPI Research Intern Christophe Venet and ESPI Research Fellow Wolfgang Rathgeber
The information contained in the more than 100 pages report was collected through publicly available sources, input by experts and in-house research. A special focus was put on the graphical representation of key data to allow for quick visualisation and optical assessment. The project was led by ESPI Research Fellow Wolfgang Rathgeber with significant support having been provided by ESPI Research Intern Christophe Venet.
