29 January 2008. ESPI was invited to present current activities to the Austrian Council for Research and Technology Development, the highest body advising the Austrian government in the field of science, research, innovation and technology. .
Hosting ESPI, the Austrian government has taken great interest of the institute's activities during the past years. Now, for the first time, ESPI was invited to present its activities to the highest advisory body to the Austrian government, the Austrian Research Council (Rat für Forschung und Technologieentwicklung). ESPI's Director Kai-Uwe Schrogl and Treasurer Michel A. Jakob today explained mission, current activities and perspectives of the institute.
Particular stress was put in the presentation on the recent conferences organized in Vienna, the approach to open space to other communities and policy areas and to the growing cooperation with Austrian institutions. The Council appreciated the work of ESPI and was pleased about the close interaction of ESPI with the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT) and the Austrian Research Funding Agency and its Agency for Aeronautics and Space (FFG/ALR).
