copy of vienne.jpg 5 February 2009. Together with the French Embassy in Vienna, ESPI organised an event to review the results from the French EU Council Presidency in the second half of 2008 with regard to space.


Hosted at the French Cultural Institute in Vienna, more than 50 guests attended an evening composed of presentations by the Space Counsellor at the Permanent Representation of France to the European Union in Brussels, Mathieu Weiss (on “The results of the French EU Council Presidency in the field of space”) and ESPI research Fellow Wolfgang Rathgeber (on “A new major perspective: space and security”, download here) followed by a panel discussion with the two speakers plus the Head of the Austrian Agency for Aeronautics and Space ALR/FFG, Harald Posch.

The hosts, the French Culture Counsellor Philippe Noble together with the Science Attaché Raoul Mille and ESPI’s Director Kai-Uwe Schrogl, who moderated the panel discussion, were pleased having stimulated an animated exchange on the results of the French EU Council Presidency with the audience, which was composed of representatives from ministries, embassies and the academic community.
