ESPRAN_Nl_12

6 June 2011. The 12th issue of the Newsletter for the European Space Policy Research and Academic Network (ESPRAN), operated by ESPI, is online.

In this issue readers will again be able to find information on the latest highlights of ESPI and ESPRAN members’ activities. It covers the period between 1 March 2011 and 31 May 2011. ESPI has seen a large number of publications during that time which were prepared in consultation with relevant European institutions and stakeholders. This issue reflects a period marked by two main events involving ESPRAN members, the conference on “Remote Sensing Regional Climate Change” which was co-organised by the Europäische Akademie zur Erforschung von Folgen wissenschaftlich-technischer Entwicklungen Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler and the ISPRS and the conference on space sustainability in cooperation with the Eisenhower Center for Space and Defense Studies of the US Air Force Academy. This issue collects short reports on other important activities such as a workshop on “Public Perception and Policy Issues related to Satellite Navigation and other Space Applications” in the European Parliament. It also announces forthcoming activities such as the ESPI/PSSI Conference on "Space Security Through the Transatlantic Partnership” in Prague and 5th ESPI Autumn Conference.

This is the first issue of the Newsletter prepared by ESPI Resident Fellow Mildred Trögeler, who has joined the institute in February. From now onwards she will take care of the coordination of ESPRAN-related activities and the ESPRAN Newsletter.
