24 February 2017. 20 – 24 February 2017. This year once more, Dr. Annette Froehlich lectured at the University of Cape Town for the Master Space Studies and its course „Space and Society“. This module comprises legal aspects, economic issues of space activities and space policy related issues.

Dr. Greg Olsen, the third space tourist who visited the ISS, again gave a lecture titled “From entrepreneurship to spaceship” (http://www.ghoventures.com/), ESPI Director Jean-Jacques Tortora a remote talk on “UNISPACE+50” and Dr. Stefano Ferretti on “Space applications for society”. This year’s team project is the redaction of a “Position Paper on Integrated Space for African Societies” to support decision makers in African countries. The course was attended by students from various African countries and African space agencies. The SpaceLab offers a multi-disciplinary research-based Master’s degree in Space Studies, with the possibility to upgrade to a PhD. The course is intended for students with strong backgrounds in engineering, science, law and business.
