28 March 2017. At the 56th session of the UNCOPUOS Legal Subcommittee, Dr. Annette Froehlich presented the on-going project with the Group of Latin America and Caribbean Countries (GRULAC), which is one of the five regional groups at the United Nations representing 17% of all UN members.

At the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UNCOPUOS), one of the largest Committees in the UN, 14 of its 83 member states belong to GRULAC. Therefore, a detailed analysis of the space situation in Latin American countries is largely welcomed and considered as a way of interaction with European space partners. The presentation was well received by the subcommittee, with special mention by various delegations. Reports on space activities for further regions are intended. In addition to this report, the ESPI-GRULAC cooperation comprises monthly meetings on space activities related to the UNCOPUOS agenda. Please see: here.
