17 May 2011. ESPI was invited to present the results of the recent “Space for Civil Protection” Workshop at the meeting of ESA’s Joint Communications Board in Berlin.

Following the substantive results emanating from the Workshop on “Space for Civil Protection”, held at ESPI on 5/6 May 2011 (see related webnews here), the Institute was invited to present the main conclusions and recommendations at the ESA programme board dealing with telecommunications and integrated applications (Joint Communications Board, JCB) at its meeting, held on 17/18 May 2011 in Berlin. The presentation (download here) had been prepared by ESPI Resident Fellows Erich Klock (Manager of the IAP Ambassador Platform for the Central and Eastern European region) and Mildred Trögeler, who had organized the Workshop together with ESPI’s Director Kai-Uwe Schrogl, who delivered it at JCB. The delegations from ESA’s Member States welcomed the presentation and encouraged ESPI to proceed with its activities as the IAP Ambassador Platform for the Central and Eastern European region as well with the issue of space for civil protection.
