ESPI Executive Brief 6

6 May 2014. ESPI today issued the sixth edition of its Executive Briefs. This issue reflects on the idea of reverse mentoring, where senior managers let the young but less experienced advise them.

In November 2013, ESPI organized a conference on space and youth unemployment. This Executive Brief takes up the idea suggested then by Professor Jan Wörner, chairman of DLR, that the space sector should allow the young to influence the thinking of the space community more. The Executive Brief 6 reflects on the advantages and issues of concern related to such an idea and, in addition, suggests the creation of dedicated youth committees, on the model of scientific or technical committees, to support innovation and strengthen future orientation.
