VSD Evening Event Alongside STSC: Shaping an Effective Framework for Space Traffic

The European Space Policy Institute (ESPI), together with the German Space Agency at DLR, is delighted to co-host the upcoming VSD Evening Event alongside the 62nd COPUOS Scientific and Technical Subcommittee (STSC) session: “Shaping an Effective Framework for Space Traffic.”

The event will take place on 10 February 2025 at the ESPI premises from 18:30 – 22:30 CET.

Speakers will include:

• H.E. Ambassador Ruediger Bohn, Permanent Representative of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Office of the United Nations and to other International Organisations, Vienna
• Taejin Chang, Head of Policy, Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI)
• Gabriel Swiney, U.S. Office of Space Commerce
• Pascal Faucher, CNES, Defence and security, Chair EU SST
• Liliana Oliva Bernal, Permanent Mission of Mexico to the United Nations in Vienna

The evening event will allow for an open exchange of views on governance approaches to address the growing volume of space traffic at the global level, the role of COPUOS and its two subcommittees, and advancing sustainable practices to ensure the long-term safety and sustainability of space activities.
