In May 2025, the European Space Policy Institute (ESPI) was pleased to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) bringing space to broader policy and strategic policy-making, and fostering a dynamic and responsible space governance regime at the global, regional, and national levels.
About CEPS
CEPS (Centre for European Policy Studies) is a leading think tank and forum for debate on EU affairs, ranking among the top think tanks in Europe. With a strong in-house research capacity and an extensive network of partner institutes throughout the world, CEPS has amply demonstrated its ability to anticipate trends and to analyse policy questions well before they become topics of general discussion.
Joint Initiatives
Cooperative activities between ESPI and CEPS under the framework of the MoU will include joint research, events, outreach initiatives, and the development of a shared research network. In the near term, collaboration will focus on ESPI’s continued participation in the CEPS Space Task Force, supported by ESPI Research Fellow and Lead on EU Relations and Regulatory Affairs, Sara Dalledonne.
Working closer with ESPI will be key to bringing space policy closer to the European Union. Together, we will help bridge technical knowledge on space technologies with high-level policy debates.

By combining ESPI’s space expertise with CEPS’ deep understanding of EU policy, we aim to foster a more integrated dialogue between the strategic and political dimensions of Europe’s space agenda. Strengthening our ties with CEPS is a key step toward expanding ESPI’s footprint in Brussels and enhancing our engagement with the stakeholders shaping the future of EU space policy.
