Second Inter-Regional Space Policy Dialogue: Latin America and Europe

On 13 May 2025, the European Space Policy Institute (ESPI) had the pleasure of co-organising the Second Inter-Regional Space Policy Dialogue: Latin America and Europe, hosted at the Residence of Brazil, in Vienna.

Under the theme “Regional Coordination and Governance: Strengthening Transatlantic Space Cooperation”, the event brought together key institutional actors from both regions to explore pathways for deeper and more sustainable collaboration in space policy, capacity-building, and shared governance.

We are deeply grateful to all our distinguished speakers for their valuable insights:

  • Dr. Andreas Geisler – Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG)
  • Carlos Garcia – Agencia Espacial Española (AEE)
  • Alessandra Vernile – Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (ASI)
  • Anabelle Fonseca – European Space Agency (ESA)
  • Ian Grosner – Brazilian Space Agency (AEB/MCTI)
  • Ambassador Jose Antonio Zabalgoitia – Mexico
  • Ambassador Gustavo Zlauvinen – Argentina

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Minister Counsellor César Augusto Vermiglio Bonamigo and Ian Grosner from the Brazilian Space Agency for their generous support in hosting this dialogue and helping foster an open, forward-looking atmosphere for exchange.

The session was moderated by our Alberto Rueda Carazo, from ESPI.

We look forward to continuing these important conversations and strengthening bridges across the Atlantic for a more inclusive and cooperative space future!
