Hiring Heroes for Building Futures
Choose Europe, Apply NowCan you read beyond the job description? Are you driven by purpose and passion, and thrive in a pool of bright young minds? Do you cherish independence and can you stand up in open debate and advocate for impact? Can you build bridges in complex spheres of influence and power? Are you inspired by space? Then maybe your time is right for racin’ in the street!
At a time when independent critical thinking and advocacy for European values are under threat globally, when geo-political and geo-economic shifts challenge societies and economies, when prosperity, peace and the future of generations to come are at risk, Europe is stepping up to take its future in its own hands, as a strong partner to the world.
Space has emerged as one of the transformative forces, shaping our future, like the Internet 30 years earlier and becoming part of the digital revolution driving our economies. Space today has become a critical enabler of security and defence, of foreign policy action, and a precondition for economic development.
As part of these dynamics, ESPI continues to advance its space policy agenda and growth, and plans to further expand its pool of talent and experts with a dedicated 2025 international recruitment campaign.
This recruitment campaign targets European, as well as international candidates, to join the ESPI team of more than 20 nationalities. It is addressed towards the full spectrum of disciplines present at ESPI, comprising political sciences, international affairs, business and economics, law, engineering, and science.
It seeks to attract high potentials to join a young team with an average age of 31 years, as well as to attract high-achievers to fill senior positions typically requiring 10-15 years of relevant experience.
The campaign follows earlier rounds of recruitment throughout 2024, filling 16 positions from a pool of more than 1,200 applicants.
It is open to all thematic research areas of ESPI, including Green & Sustainable Societies; Security & Defence; Exploration & Science; Industry, Innovation, Finance & Workforce; and Space as an Asset. All areas leverage ESPI’s European and international engagement platforms for dialogue with diverse stakeholders in and beyond the space sector and support the ESPI education portfolio to help nurture and retain a talented and skilled workforce for Europe’s future.

The selected candidates:
The first selection of candidates will be made QII/III 2025. Positions are expected to be filled starting QIII 2025 and into early 2026.
The ESPI 2025 International Recruitment Campaign is being initiated as the Institute has reached full compliance to be granted the status of a Quasi-International Organisation, expected in 2025, elevating the international recognition of the Institute.
This status will also provide several privileges, facilitating recruitment beyond EU/EEA borders by providing access to the labour market also for spouses and providing tax benefits. Under the provisions of a Quasi-International Organisation, the salary of ESPI employees will be exempt from tax.
