Pursuant the well-received publication of the study “India in Space: Between Utility and Geopolitics” in January 2018, the European Space Policy Institute (ESPI) has initiated a follow-up activity on “The State and Potential of Cooperation between Europe and India in Space Activities”. Europe and India have both pursued space activities In the Interest of creating space-based products and services to benefit their respective societies. Both geographies have capacities in upstream including spacecraft manufacturing, launch vehicles, ground segment and extensive downstream utilization in areas such as remote sensing, communications, navigation. However, there is still a large gap in grassroots level cooperation between the stakeholders In Europe and India.

In the context of these new ESPI activities, this side-event aims to shed light on the ever-growing engagement potential between Indian and European stakeholders in the space sector and to facilitate the identification of concrete cooperation opportunities at both government-to-government and business-to-business level.
