In 2022, the UN COPUOS approved a new single issue/item for discussion on the agenda of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee (STSC), a “general exchange of views on dark and quiet skies for science and society,” recognising an increasing impact of space activities of the night sky and on astronomy.
Following on this decision, UN COPUOS STSC is scheduled to address “Dark and quiet skies” at its the upcoming sixtieth session (6-17 February 2023) .
Aiming to foster a complementary exchange of views on the challenge of protecting dark and quiet skies, ESPI is organizing this in-person evening event, with the support of:

Please note this is an in-person event. Participation is open to all delegates to the 60th session of UN COPUOS STSC without registration.
