ESPI Ushers in a New Era with the Inauguration of its New Premises

On 26 January 2024, the European Space Policy Institute (ESPI) welcomed nearly 100 esteemed guests to inaugurate its new premises at the historic Schwarzenbergplatz 16 in the heart of Vienna – the global gateway for space and centre of space diplomacy.

The ceremony welcomed 15 Ambassadors and Permanent Representatives in Vienna, representatives of our member organisations, a large presence of our local Austrian network, and numerous European and international partners, including policymakers, industry representatives, journalists, diplomats, artists and representatives of the future generations.

The inauguration marked the beginning of a new era for ESPI, as it completes the process of moving into its new home. This new and larger space is fitting for this new era, as the Institute grows in vision, ambition and personnel.

This new space will be the place to materialize the vision for Space for Peace, Prosperity and Future Generations and strengthen the Vienna Space Diplomat community, initiated and facilitated by ESPI since July 2023. Building on the momentum of ESPI’s 2023 successes, the Institute is thrilled to enter 2024 with the same energy, enthusiasm, and ambition.

Thank you to our community and all those who attended our inauguration event and made it a memorable evening. Please find a selection of photos below.

Many thanks to our member and co-founder, the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), for the video and the photos from the event.

Special acknowledgements about our move to new premises

The seamless transition into this new space would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication to ESPI of everyone involved, in particular our internal team composed of colleagues primarily from Administrative and Finance Team , under the overall leadership of our Treasurer, Evelyn Obernosterer-Egger. We are also thankful for the support from external companies and individuals involved, especially Ms. Klaus from Buerofreunde; Mr. Dedic from Arealis; Mr. Falchetto and his team; Mr. Pavlovic from company Fuchs; and Mr. Bulgarini from Höhne, In der Maur & Partner.
