The 2015 UN “Sustainable Development” 2030 agenda outlines goals for the space sector, specifically regarding the digital and industrial sectors. ESPI’s recommendations regarding this agenda, including the “Space for Sustainable Development” Autumn Conference and UNISPACE+50 are summarised in the chapters dedicated to Sustainable Development and Space; UN frameworks for developing space goals; the ESPI contribution to the Autumn Conference; and discussions regarding conferences and other major events, particularly the UAE Forum on Space as a Driver for Socio-Economic Sustainable Development. This report highlights the importance for a variety of the space community actors to be involved in UNISPACE+50 activities, and ESPI’s contribution to the Autumn Conference and socio-economic aspects of space sustainability discussions.
