ESPI Strengthens its Role in Europe’s Space Education Ecosystem

The future of the European space sector and its capacity to innovate strongly relies on an education ecosystem able to nurture and retain talent and a skilled workforce. Understanding this, Education remains a cornerstone of the European Space Policy Institute’s (ESPI) mission, reinforced in our strategic agenda as defined in ESPI2040: Space for Prosperity, Peace and Future Generations

In line with the vision of a stronger, better connected, and more efficient education ecosystem in Europe, ESPI convened three educational fora for varied student groups in the last week.

Sustainability In and From Space: The first event took place on 4 April 2024 and welcomed students of TU Wien’s new and innovative Executive MBA Space Architecture. The EMBA student delegation, led by Dr. Sandra Häuplik-Meusburger, and Dr. Man-Wook Han, visited ESPI for a “space-field trip” on Space and Sustainability as part of a module of the EMBA programme.

Education, workforce development, and talent attraction are key challenges that will confront the European space sector, and Europe at large, in the medium term. Through its education activities, ESPI aims to play an instrumental role in addressing this challenge and contribute to a stronger, better connected, and more efficient education ecosystem in Europe.
